Thanks, Shawn, AmigoMike and Smith, and everyone else. Good stuff!

I can pretend stuff like that doesn't phase me, but the timing is key. I'm at my most vulnerable right after a new release, so these cobras seem to know exactly when to strike. After enough positive ratings/comments buildup, I'm able to easily shrug off their crap and move on, but if they're able to get in there precisely at that moment of uncertainty--you gotta give them credit for being so timely. Fortunately, there's far more good people than these guys, so it's easily to dismiss.

Looking back over my videos, I can see where I genuinely failed and where it's just haters. I won't bother to point out the truly ugh videos, but you probably know which ones I'm talking about. I also know which ones I really worked hard on and came up with good stuff for, and which ones I coasted through on auto-pilot.

Again, not to compare myself to actual geniuses, but it's always enlightening to consider that all performers of any kind have their supply critics and haters. I remember reading to my horror that even Phil Collins got depressed and ended up taking a long hiatus because a few persistent haters managed to tear down his ego. PHIL COLLINS! I just find it hard to understand that. I guess even big names can have huge insecurities sometimes, and no amount of praise or reward can compensate for it.

Of course, you don't want the opposite, either, some jerk who's so convinced of his ability that he disregards all advice and ruins his own reputation.
