However, the launch of the eShop has brought back a few gems. I downloaded Link's Awakening and Donkey Kong '94--both fantastic games that are very enjoyable, even today. Definitely worth playing through again to tide us over until Ocarina of Time 3D is released! The only shame is that DK is displayed in grayscale Game Boy graphics instead of its colorized Super Game Boy graphics. I wonder if DK94 is the earliest game where Mario has the backflip and triple jump abilities?
Yeah, there have been a dearth of games since launch. I think Nintendo is counting on Zelda for a big boost. Even though I pre-ordered it because I never played through the original (though I have it on the GameCube), it's dissapointing that so much is riding on what amounts to a remake, albeit a remake of a legendary game.
If they included the Super GameBoy capability in their emulator, then a lot of those games would be a must-buy, including Donkey Kong. As it is, since I have the original and the Super GameBoy for my SNES, it wouldn't feel right for me to buy a "lesser" version. Hopefully Nintendo wakes up and emulates more than just portable systems, as there's no reason that the 3DS shouldn't be capable...
