As an adult I lived down the street from the WPIX studios and whenever I would look up and see the WPIX sign I couldn't help but think...pix pix pix to myself!!! I don't remember how you got on, though I know as kids we would wait to hope they would call us.
Good question! I remember vaguely it being something you mailed in, like a post card with your name , phone number and address, but I don't remember specifically.
