Actually a bit of info, Eye of the Beholder III: Assault on Myth Drannor and Dungeon Hack were both created with a game engine called AESOP/16 by John Miles. He was working on AESOP/32 as a patch to EOB3 but it was never released. He was talked into releasing the source code and it has been compiled and made to work with EOB3. You can grab it from here.
Eye of the Beholder II: The Legend of Darkmoon is still a favorite of mine. Certainly not a very modern interface but very functional.. the game also had a fantastic art style to it.
