I'm with you there, Rob, but based on the people, from everyday net goers to top game devs, I think I've heard enough good about Minecraft (hell, enough over the top praise) to risk the $$$ and see what all the fuss is about, even though I'm not 100% sure what it is. I think its lack of easy categorization is one of its strengths. I suppose the best description is perhaps "strategy sandbox". It might be a nice way to try out my new PC laptop, though it's obviously not a title to push any technical barriers.
