I guess I can understand these companies trying to eke out a few sales based on the name, but it is hard to understand why we should try to promote them out of any feeling of nostalgia or loyalty. Every time some company with the rights to Commodore or whatever comes out of the woodwork, it gets all kinds of free publicity that it in no way deserves. So what, you spent a few grand to license the name. Anybody can do that. I'm not going to mention any of these rip-offs until I see a product that really lives up to the reputation.
Hence the tone of my posting(s), but I'm in the minority in that regard it seems. If these guys didn't lie about having the license when they first started the company, I'd be willing to cut them more slack, as I do like zero footprint PC designs, but you wonder about their ethical compass if they're willing to be so dishonest over something as trivial as that. With that said, you are paying a significant premium for what they sell. In fact, I can get a HP TouchSmart PC like I have now where everything is built into a huge touch screen monitor for less than many of the cpu keyboards they sell.
