C64 Forever: anyone have it?

I have very little experience with the C64 platform, and it's a major hole in my gaming history. Is the "C64 Forever" system similar to the "Amiga Forever" interface, where I can play games without having intimate knowledge of the platform?

I'm quite fond of "Amiga Forever," but believe it or not, the C64 games would be "new" to me. The public domain C64 emulators I've tried in the past seem a bit obscure to me, and rather difficult to operate, so this "C64 Forever" might be a solution. Any advice would be appreciated.
