Indeed. It is an interesting marketing gimmick that obviously is working (it's got us all talking about it and even filming it!). I'm sure lots of people will actually throw a party, and it'd be kinda hard NOT to talk about Windows 7 at such an event.
And why shouldn't we celebrate it? People celebrate the Super Bowl, etc., things that ultimately have no impact on our daily lives. Windows 7, by contrast, could affect you on a daily basis if you install it.
