I still want to do an audio podcast, something akin to "The Armchair Arcade Week in Review" (THAAWIR). Keep it short and just cover that past week's top stories, tell some of my own stories, etc. I'd do it for fun. If people listened, great, if not, no big deal. The key is to keep it short and sweet, do it on a regular schedule and make sure that iTunes is set up to automatically poll it. I'll probably record a few episodes first, then maybe start publicizing it after the third episode once I work all the kinks out.
I was also entertaining doing something like Shane does, which is record his shows in his car on the way to work. I've been thinking about doing that for years. That may be the best way to attempt something like that. I don't know.
As for video podcasts and the iPhone/iPod via iTunes, you can always put into MP4 format and a screen friendly size. That should allow for quite a bit of compression and still keep the quality high and it would work very well on the intended devices. That could be a big audience boost.
We also have the $50 credit in Google Adwords, don't forget, for signing up with Hostgator.
Anyway, the point is, we can start thinking about things now that we really couldn't think of before. We can even create sub-sites and make use of sub-domains (like www.videogamesandcomputers.com). Hell, I could even subjugate www.billandchristina.com and www.mythcore.com to be on this same server. It's not like they're high traffic. Lots of options there.
