You seriously need some people to get behind you and push for obtaining an advance copy of each of the games. It seems like you should at least be able to get the games as early as the reviewers do. You might be able to find some connections through journalists that review games. I am not sure how they might help you. I am also not sure if their means would be legal or not, however it seems like there should be some way of you getting an advance copy.
It is obvious you have writing skills. Perhaps you could do a guest review of one or more of the games for a games website? That would eat even more of your time, however you could ALSO plug your book in your byline or something. Best case scenario is that you bang out a review easily, get an advanced copy of the game you are to review, AND get to plug your book on the site.
I am seriously trying to capture clouds in hands with these ideas, but perhaps a connection or two would help get the ball rolling. Thoughts?
