Funny the different senses of humor around here. If you remove any type of concern over people "getting hurt" or "breaking the law", then it's either funny or it's not. My wife and I found it funny, Mark and his wife found it funny, no one else seems to have found it funny. Fair enough.
European and Japanese "prank" laws are very different than they are here in the US. There are far less liability issues, so the pranks and prank shows are far more aggressive than they are in the US, where you'll get your ass sued in a heartbeat. I'm not sure one way is better or worse than the other, as each has their pluses and minuses (in the US, you're safer, but there's far less fun).
Anyway, since these take place in France, it's all good as far as I'm concerned, since the laws are different. This Remi Gaillard's story is rather interesting as well, as he started doing these when he was unemployed and gained quite a bit of notierity and started getting paid gigs out of it all. He followed his dream and went for it. These are actually quite popular on YouTube - all of the many videos are typically five stars with hundreds of thousands+ of views. Some of course are better than others and some appeal to other senses of humor than others.
I happened to post these two because of their videogame centricity and the fact that the little touches in each of the videos is actually very faithful to the source material (I thought the banana peel throwing was inspired! - both videos in my opinion are terrifically surreal). Good stuff in my opinion, but sorry to those who didn't like it! ;-)
