The Usual Kudos

Matt does another great video, I greatly enjoy it, I post my opinions.... Lather, rinse, repeat. I'm running out of compliments! One video a week seems like a very ambitious schedule, though. How long can you keep this up, Matt? Not that I'm complaining.... a new video a DAY is what I would request if I thought you could do it!

M.U.L.E. was a surprise.... especially since, when I realized Matt was reviewing the game, I was expecting the C64 version to be reviewed, and not the Atari version. In my opinion, M.U.L.E. is easily the most accessible economic simulation of all time. I would say it was influential, but it appears nobody has done anything like it since it came out, to my knowledge! It was a great subject for a "Matt Chat" video.

I think so too, all-though M.U.L.E. is no standout audio-visually for the Atari either. Surprisingly, the Atari version had better music than the C64 version, and if I recall, it had a few other tweaks that the C64 version didn't have, such as the whole screen shaking when an earthquake hits the planet "Irata." Hmm.... I wonder what the significance of the planet's name is that Matt aluded to? :-)

Since I brought up the "lighting" issue last time, the lighting has improved in this episode. It may or may not need more tweaking, but I'm not Christian Bale, so I have no advice on your lighting issues beyond this!

Matt, not to change the topic, but you alluded to wanting to cover "Satan's Hollow" in another thread, but didn't feel you could warrant a full-length video devoted to it. Perhaps an occasional "special episode" could be made covering a "grab bag" of several such games at once.

"This week, some overlooked arcade greats: Satan's Hollow, Vodka Tapper, Brady Bunch Bloodbath, and Strip Strip Revolution."

I dunno, just an idea. This way, you could cover some of your favorite, but less deep, games without trying to fill ten minutes on each of them. Bill did something similar in the past with his Atari 2600 game review videos.

You might also cover games you DON'T like, or games that are controversial. I wouldn't mind seeing you delve into these waters, and since you delve into them in your internet posts, it would be consistent with your online personality.

I'm NOT implying that you should change what you're doing! If you run out of ideas, maybe those ideas could help, but if you know where you're going with this, keep it up! I like the surprise!
