Wii Fit

Bill -

Congratulations. You are now officially in demand. Your fees will rise soon. The townspeople...will now charge you more for swords and shields.

I am amazed at what sort of difference of opinion exists in regard to what this game IS. I own it myself. I didn't buy it as a game. I bought it as a utility to use as part of a workout. There is an incredibly large audience that bought it thinking it was going to be a ton of mini games that you simply play with the balance board. While there are mini games included with the program, it is obviously geared toward fitness. Was the fact many considered it a game simply mass misconception, or was it not marketed properly? Perhaps the sample of people I have talked to simply does not represent the majority.

I started out on quite a kick. I worked out everyday for about an hour and mostly concentrated on cardio. This evolved into a large chunk of the exercise becoming focused on toning abs. The entire regime came crashing down when Hurricane Ike hit Houston and I was without power for 9 days. I mean to get back on it, but it is tough once you are off. My current workout seems to be titled "Street Fighter IV."

I am interested in what you have to write about Wii Fit, Bill. I think a primary complaint about the game is lack of organization in regard to WHAT you should do. You can read the descriptions of the exercises, but it should ask you what your goals are! I am not talking about BMI, I mean lose weight, tone abs, tone arms, improve coordination, etc. I hope and assume that your book will take that approach. Will it be designed to function as a textual trainer of sorts for use with Wii Fit? Are you going as far to create certain workout plans to pair up with people's goals? How far beyond the game itself (eating habits, water intake, warm up, cool down, etc) will the book go?

Good luck!
Chris
