These guys are so serious about the game. Quite funny actually if not hilarious at some points.
But it also brought back some weird memories. Back in High school this huge (6 foot) asian kid called
Tommy used to play Dungeons and Dragons all the time, he also wanted me and my friends to participate. Never could quite get into it. For Tommy the D&D was very serious - even more serious than real life. He sort of lived his life within the game which made the game eerie. Me and my friends actually bailed out on Tommy and his game because it actually got scary.
Years later I found out Tommy was suffering from Schizophrenia with paranoid delusions and the D&D world was all around him in real life. It still is actually as he is quite resistant to inti-psychotic drugs/therapy. We can at least choose to be in this world and treat it as a game. Tommy can't, he suffers his inner demons without the choice to bail out. No game over for him.
