I grew up reading Hardy Boys as a kid. It was always a treat, but of course you outgrow those pretty quickly. I moved on pretty early to "real" novels, though some of the teen stuff I read was actually so good my whole family (including grandparents) read them. My favorite of all time is Firebrats, which is about two teenagers who survive a nuclear holocaust and have to deal with the aftermath. I'm like --- WTF --- haven't these been made into movies or games? My whole family would wait anxiously for the next novel, then devour them in days. :)
If you get a chance, check them out! You won't be disappointed, that's for sure.
I've never heard of the 3 investigators.
