I know the firmware for the 1541 Ultimate II is open source... I had asked Jim Brain about the possibility of him being able to license 1541U2 design from Gideon Zweijtzer, but I never got a response back on that issue. At the very least, this would save on the conversion rates.
It seems that this is going to come out to about the same price as the Chameleon 64 cartridge.. so I may wait for that to be released before I decide on which one I want to get.
It's hard to justify these charges for a 25+ year old computer. :-)
