Well, the deal is that Elizabeth's friends have been trying to "convert" her to Wii, and apparently it's working because she always mentions it when Sam's gets them in. One of my gaming colleagues here also talks it up a great deal. In short, I feel motivated because it's unusual for the wife to be hinting at something game-related; if she's showing interest, that may turn out to be a good thing. She doesn't play WOW, but we did have fun playing Donkey Kong Country a few years ago and we also play Worms on the Dreamcast every once in a blue moon. She's also a huge fan of Mario Kart, and I've heard there is a new one for the Wii.
If it were just for me, I'd go with a 360, but the Elizabeth angle here might push me towards the Wii.
