I to have a CD32 with the original PSU, I got an adaptor off Ebay which apparently adapts a
AT PSU for use with CD32, though the adaptor fits I find that outside off a PC tower and attached
to a motherboard I cannot turn on the power supply so the adaptor is not doing me much good.
I probably got the same exact thing as you. I too could never get enough load on the AT PSU to make it work, hence the eBay purchase of the pre-built heavy duty adapter I have now. I still have the instruction sheet that it came with and may be able to see who sold it (I think it was the same guy who made it). I'll probably never get the rare computer add-on for the CD32, but it's nice to know that this power supply is ready for it.

Another thing, what do you display you CD32 on? I finally got a mouse for some troublesome titles that require PAL
mode, I got a hold of an AMIGA mouse so I could access the early statup screen but I\ve nothing to display a PAL
signal on, oh if only I had my old Commodore 1084S monitor, damn why can't all these fance new LCD monitors
automaticly accept PAL/NTSC 50/60HRZ signals? Maybe I need a signal convertor?
I have three 1084S monitors for just that reason - they're just about the most versatile monitors around. I've only displayed the CD32 on a TV up to this point, but I haven't tried all the games (that's what the rest of this month will be for), so I'll surely need to go into PAL mode at some point. I also have a converter box that converts all kinds of foreign signals for display on a VGA monitor. Finally, a third option is the video capture Cardbus card I have for my laptop - that allows you to input and display a variety of worldwide standards. For you, that's probably the easiest and cheapest option (anywhere from $15 - $30 or so)--just getting some type of video capture device for display on your PC or laptop. I'll see how that works fully though as I'll no doubt have to take both NTSC and PAL captures on the CD32 depending upon the software I'm running...
Where are you located again? I can give you one of the extra 1084S monitors, though I'd rather not ship it.
