There's a bit of confab between the TI and MSX/CV communities... Largely because the sound chip and video chips are shared. It did lead to a spot of trouble some months back when some CV guys accused one of the TI guys of stealing a game, when in fact all he did was recreate a game title screen for some fun.
Apparently a fellow made a card a few years back that emulated the Z80 so that they could run MSX/CV games on the TI without conversion necessary.
The sound effects I hear in the game are definitely sound-chip, but the music sounds digital. And the speech is very clear... the cartridge must have one of the more advanced sound chips embedded in it.

I think the speech in the video is just a dramatic narration from a modern speech synthesizer (a wonderful idea and one I might implement in the future) added for narrative effect. The music is supposedly from the game. There are only the two speech samples used in the game that were described by Daniel.
Indeed, the TI-99/4 and 4a, ColecoVision/Adam, MSX 1, Spectravideo SV-318/328 and Tomy Tutor are all extremely similar in audio-visual capabilities. The technology most commonly used in Tandy/Radio Shack's Color Computer line is also shared by several systems from different manufacturers, though not nearly as many as in the list prior.
I never heard of that card for the TI. It would pretty cool if it worked properly, though more from a curiosity standpoint than a practical one (since it's probably cheaper and easier just to get the system that it's "emulating").
