Hey, wasn't there a game called Oubliette? I think it was a PLATO game but I wouldn't swear to it. It probably wasn't significant enough to get a mention but I'm always interested in the "also rans". ;)
Yes, I talk about the game in Part Two ("The Golden Age.") It's noted for its heavy reliance on J.R.R. Tolkien. Many fans of "Roguelike" games consider it to the best of the lot. I must say, though, that the C-64 version looks terrible (at least the one I was able to find). The DOS version looks much better.
