As expected, Nintendo's next console will not be called "Revolution", but instead "Wii". As I and others have maintained and Nintendo themselves knew all too well, you can't call a console "Revolution" because that gives you no where to go up from. Unfortunately, I think "Wii", pronounced "We", is just about the worst name they could have come up with. Let the "Wee, Wee", "Whee!" and "World War II" comments begin...

Honestly, I think the core technology and ideas - if executed correctly and supported with good software - will surely overcome a bad name, but this does not help Nintendo regain "cool" or "mature", which is really the only things it lacks in the greater marketplace in comparison to Sony and Microsoft products. In any case, the name doesn't help things and will need some clever marketing to even make it all work...

Also, how confused will the uniformed be by saying "check out Nintendo's 'We'"... It's just not a good product name, plain and simple.

Here's a link to an interview on IGN where the reason behind the name is discussed.
