We are looking for talented Sports Game Designer. This is a permanent full time job based in Montrιal, Canada.

Gameloft is a leading international publisher and developer of video games for mobile phones. Founded in 1999, it has emerged as one of the top innovators in its field. The company creates games for mobile handsets equipped with Java, Brew or Symbian technology.

Gameloft is looking for a game designer to work on its line of sports games for mobile devices. The principal responsibility will be to work on the sequel of a baseball game for mobile phones, deciding what adjustments will be needed for the game play, graphics and interface to take the game to the next level. Following that project the designer will have the opportunity to work on different sports games in the Gameloft catalogue, including basketball, football and soccer. The designer will coordinate work with many programmers and graphic artists, so good organization and time management skills are needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Adaptation of existing sports games to different devices.
• In conjunction with a senior designer, resolve Interface, controls and navigation design.
• Communication of needs to team members.
• Benchmarking of competition.
• Design the game play, artificial intelligence and rules of sports games.
• Editing the teams and stats of all players.
• Balancing game play to get realistic results.
• Working on multiple projects at once.

Competencies:
• Must posses advanced knowledge of the rules and strategies of popular sports (baseball, football, basketball, soccer, etc).
• Good knowledge of game design theories and how they can apply to sports games.
• Love for sports and sports games.
• Ergonomics and interface design skills.
• Passion for video games and their history.
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of the video game development process.
• Good communication and team work skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and illustration software.
• Ability to learn new development tools.

• Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office and Game Prototyping
• College minimum
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Game Designer with atleast 1 game published
• Bilingual French and English (asset)
• Good communication skills, creativity, writing skills
