Following Buck's article with a rant on Leo Laporte and the continued string of bizarre G4TechTV host shuffling and replacements, we come to the latest...

Kevin Pereira apparently either quit as or was replaced as co-host of "Pulse". Now I'm a dude, so I prefer female singers and female hosts generally speaking, but the "comedic" banter between Patrick Clark and Kevin Pereira was very well done, much, much better than the "can't read a teleprompter" original hosts of Jim Downs and the gothic woman who smiled a lot whose name I forget at the moment. Eventually, Jim Downs moved into executive production roles and the occasional travel segment, while the gothic woman apparently makes an occasional appearance as a reporter at certain events on certain specials. Anyway, it was a pleasant surprise to have to well-read and fun hosts as Patrick Clark and Kevin Pereira settle into the roles...

So I guess Pulse as of now features Patrick Clark and some relatively uninteresting newsbunny (okay, potential newsbunny--I can't comment on her credentials since I don't know them). She has a dull delivery and it does not bode well for the easy back and forth that the show previously featured.

Of course finding ANY info on the change is nigh impossible, and probably indefinitely will be, even though the show acknowledged the new co-host (but not what happened to the old one). Go figure...

I assume Kevin Pereira will still do Arena, but I wouldn't really know since I haven't watched that show since the Wil Wheaton days (and it's NOT an easy show to watch unless you're somehow interested in that sort of thing)...

I never watched G4 before the merger occurred, but am a fan of TechTV.

After the merger I started to check out some G4 shows and was overall disappointed with the lack of quality in G4 hosts. The G4 shows try too hard at being image oriented and as a consequence their hosts often lack substance. With some of the G4 shows, it's like watching people hanging out trying to strike a pose.

In comparison, the TechTV hosts are so much better at actually serving a purpose. One thing Leo used to bring to The Screen Savers is a level of professionalism that is lost without him. Leo used to be perfect at interviewing famous physicists, technology philosophers, and various big names in the tech sector. There's no other host on G4/TechTV who can pull that off the way he did. The effort made by the TechTV personnel in general seems more genuine.

Yes, I saw this today too. I can't stand the management of that network. Pulse and Icons were the only shows that G4 brought to the table that I thought were worth watching. Now they just screwed one of them up. I say get rid of the illiterate bimbo and bring Leo back. Of course no one is listening to me, are they. If I was dictator of the world blood would run in the streets for about a two or three months. After that, everything would be alright.
