Okay, so I'm getting ready to call Rob Hubbard (C-64 game audio guru) and ask him some questions for my game audio article. However, I thought, hell, a chance like this doesn't come everyday, so if any of you have any questions or anything, I'll be glad to throw them into the mix.

Wow, that is sweet!!!!!

Here some questions that you've probably already come up with yourself!

1. How did you write/compose your music? With pen(cil) & paper? on Piano? Keyboards? humming?
2. How did you master the Sid? It's documentation leaves a lot to be desired. Was it trial and error? peeking and poking about?
3. What software did you use to 'create' your songs? I
4. Are you still making music?
5. Did you know any other great c64 musicians back then?

Was he working closely with the design teams? Did he have any input early in the design process? Did he have creative control? Did they tell him what kind of music they wanted, or was he free to come up with anything? Was it all work-for-hire or does he own any of the songs he wrote? Commodore 64 or Atari 8bits, which one did he prefer and why...

Probably some obvious questions, but here goes:

What do you think of the computer/game music industry today?

What is your musical background/training? Are you strictly a computer musician, or are you a "real" musician (what instruments do you play)?

What do you think of the "emulation" scene, since many of the games he worked on are floating around the net?

Any regrets, vendettas, or praises he wants to tell about his experiences?

Did he make good money from his talents?

Just some I can think of at the moment...

Maybe mr Hubbart could shed his light on the topic of 'pre recorded' gamemusic, real time synthesyzed adaptive game music, chip sounds or samples?

btw this site http://www.c64hq.com has an interview with mr Hubbard.

Ask him who would win in a fight between him and God...trickquestion cause Hubbard is God.

No, but seriously I would love to know which tunes he is the most proud of looking back on his catalogue of work.
